Pastor Beau Nelson has served Amazing Grace Lutheran Church since its formation in 2023 and has been an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) since September 18, 2011.

A native of northern Minnesota, Pastor Beau graduated summa cum laude from Wartburg College, Waverly IA, in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion. He then attended Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN earning a Master of Divinity degree in 2011.

Pastor Beau began his ministry at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Hamilton Square, New Jersey. After serving there for more than two years, he moved to Trenton, where he developed a ministry alongside people experiencing homelessness while also preaching in congregations throughout the New Jersey Synod.

In 2016, Pastor Beau was called to serve Bethany Lutheran Church in Jersey City. A year later, he began serving as chaplain at Lutheran Senior Life, a ministry of Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey. In 2019, Saint Mark Lutheran Church in Morristown and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Florham Park called him to serve as pastor of their shared ministry. Following the merger of those congregations in May 2023, he was called to serve as pastor of the newly formed Amazing Grace Lutheran Church.

Pastor Beau is passionate about helping people discover God's grace in everyday life and about building communities that are welcoming, faithful, and engaged with their neighbors.

He and his wife, Alexis, live in the church parsonage in Morristown with their two sons, Philip and William, and Alexis's mother, Theresa.

When he is not spending time with family or serving the congregation, Pastor Beau enjoys reading, genealogy research and writing, building LEGO sets (several of which are displayed in his office), video games, and spending time outdoors.
